Building relationships with town residents forms a core part of the gameplay experience in Persona 3 Reload. Among the many heartwarming storylines is the Hierophant Social Link, which features the elderly couple Bunkichi and Mitsuko Kitamura at Bookworms bookstore. Understanding how to unlock and maximize this bond ensures players efficiently spend their free daytime slots.
How to Unlock the Hierophant Social Link
Players can first hear about the reopened bookstore in the Iwatodai Strip Mall starting on April 25. Upon visiting Bookworms, Bunkichi and Mitsuko mention a special persimmon tree located on the grounds of Gekkoukan High School.
To establish the link, head to the eastern corridor exit near the school courtyard and inspect the tree to obtain a Persimmon Leaf. Return this key item to the couple at the bookstore to officially trigger Rank 1 of the Hierophant Arcana.
Availability and General Schedule
Bunkichi and Mitsuko offer one of the most flexible schedules among all Social Links in Persona 3 Reload. They are available during the daytime from Tuesday through Sunday, making them accessible even when school is out for holidays or exams.
Because their bookstore operates independently from the school calendar, players can comfortably ranking them up during summer break. It is recommended to carry a Persona of the Hierophant Arcana whenever spending time with them to maximize social point gains.
Best Dialogue Choices and Strategy
Advancing through the ranks requires selecting supportive and respectful responses during conversations with the elderly couple. Demonstrating empathy regarding their family situations and personal memories helps deepen the bond much faster.
Reaching Rank 10 rewards the protagonist with the Persimmon Fruit item. This special item unlocks the ability to fuse Kohryu, the ultimate Persona of the Hierophant Arcana.
